Kristen Simpson

Kristen (née Dick) has been singing with Altra Volta since 2003, almost always as a top soprano. She is very thankful for the opportunity to enjoy music every week, as well as the company of the other members, whom she counts among her dearest friends.

Kristen works as in-house legal counsel to a large energy infrastructure company in Calgary, and spends the rest of her time raising her very busy young children.

Kristen's favorite Altra Volta song is Toto's "Africa", as she had an opportunity to sing an oxygen-deprived rendition of it on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro! Her musical influences are eclectic, including Blue Rodeo, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Feist, ABBA, Billy Joel and Bobby McFerrin.
